The Unicode Consortium reported last week that “face with tears of joy” (😂) is the most frequently used emoji, eclipsing the red heart (❤️) and “smiling face with heart-eyes” (😍) which came in second and third respectively.
Right now, the least used emoji is the "input symbol for Latin letters (🔤)," which is a blue square with lowercase 'ABC' on it. Before that, the least used emoji was the "non-potable water symbol (🚱)," and before that, it was briefly the "input symbol for Latin capital letters (🔠)."
